Hoy, jueves 6 de agosto, se han dado a conocer a los ganadores del Critics Choice Super Awards 2026, en lo que es su sexta edición.

Los reconocimientos son entregados cada año, por The Critics Choice Association, inicando en 2020, año en que no se pudieron celebrar los tradicionales Critics Choice, debido a la pandemia. Para compensar, la asociación de críticos creó la variante de Super Awards, mismos que se revelaron a través de una transmisión por internet.
Los Critics Choice Super Awards, reconocen a lo mejor de acción, horror, ciencia ficción, fantasía y superhéroes o adaptaciones de comics y videojuegos, tanto en cine como en televisión.
Mur curiosamente, el boletín emitido en la página oficial se refiere a estos premios como los que “honran los géneros más populares y con los fanáticos más obsesivos en cine y televisión”.
La finalidad de dicho certamen es tomar en cuenta los géneros que normalmente son ignorados por la crítica, pero que son los que mantienen a las industrias con vida.
La película más nominada en esta ocasión fue Superman, en seis categorías.
Superman, Project Hail Mary, Obsession y The Furious, obtuvieron 2 trofeos cada uno.
Le siguieron, con cuatro nominaciones cada una: Masters of the Universe (He-Man y los Amos del universo), Obsession (Obsesión), Project Hail Mary (Proyecto del fin del mundo), The Fantastic Four: First Steps (Cuatro Fantásticos: Primeros pasos) y Weapons (La hora de la desaparición).
Este año, se agrega una categoría especial en el género de cine de horror, con la que se premiará la mejor actuación para actores muy especiales, con el nombre de “Mejor buen chico (o chica) en películas de horror”. Este año, el recipiente es Indy, un Retriever de Nueva Escocia, cuyo trabajo causó impacto en el filme Good Boy, de 2025.
En televisión, la serie que obtuvo mayor cantidad de menciones fue The Boys, con cinco en total. Detrás de ella, también con cuatro cada una: Fallout, House of the Dragon (La casa del dragón) y Paradise.
Como era de esperarse, The Boys se llevó 3 trofeos con su temporada final. Sin embargo, fue empatada por Widow’s Bay, que se llevó los 3 premios a los que estaba nominada.
Como cada año, las categorías de superhéroes incluyen adaptaciones de comics y videojuegos.
