Es la temporada de premios y de manera extraordinaria, se llevan a cabo casi cada semana. Esto es debido a la pandemia de COVID-19. La nueva manera de hacer las ceremonias se está convirtiendo es costumbre y se resuelve de manera creativa en forma remota desde múltiples locaciones lo cual, si bien representa una enorme complicación logística, ha dado buenos resultados.
Este domingo 7 de marzo toca el turno para la entrega número 26 de los Critics’ Choice Awards realizados, como el año pasado, en el Hangar Barker ubicado en Santa Monica, California, en los Estados Unidos.
Netflix se colocó a la delantera con 72 nominaciones, y su agresivo proyecto de presentar al menos, una nueva película por semana. HBO/HBO Max se adjudicó 24, mientras que Amazon Studios, 18.
En cuanto a filmes, los que más nominaciones tuvieron, son: MANK (Netflix) con 12, MINARI (A24) con 10, MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM (Netflix) con 8, NEWS OF THE WORLD (Universal Pictures) con 7, DA 5 BLOODS (Netflix) con 6, THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7 (Netflix) con 6, NOMADLAND (Searchlight Pictures) con 6, PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN (Focus Features) con 6, SOUND OF METAL (Amazon Studios) con 5 y TENET (Warner Bros.), también con 5.
La ganadora en cuanto a cine fue Nomadland, al llevarse Mejor Película, Mejor Directora, Mejor Guion Adaptado y Mejor Fotografía.
Por el lado de las series de televisión, las que más nominaciones obtuvieron, son: THE CROWN (Netflix) con 6 (y se adjudicó 3 preseas la semana pasada en los Golden Globe), OZARK (Netflix) con 6, LOVECRAFT COUNTRY (HBO) con 5, MRS. AMERICA (FX) con 5, SCHITT’S CREEK (Pop) con 5, WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS (FX) con 5, BETTER CALL SAUL (AMC) con 4 y THE PLOT AGAINST AMERICA (HBO) con 4. Una favorita con menos nominaciones fue THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT (Netflix) con sólo 3, pero se llevó dos, el de Mejor Miniserie y Mejor Actriz (los mismos que ganó en los Golden).
The Crown se adjudicó las categorías de Mejor Serie Dramática, Mejor Actriz, Mejor Actor y Mejor Actriz de Reparto.
A su vez, el actor Chadwick Boseman obtuvo dos nominaciones de manera póstuma, de los cuales ganó la de Mejor Actor por su participación en Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (la semana anterior -como en esta-, su viuda dio emotivas palabras al ganar en la misma categoría).
Varios de los ganadores se repitieron, lo que nos da una buena idea de cuál podría ser el perfil hacia las siguientes entregas, como el Oscar.
